I’m still astounded how so many trendy people in my social circle are not aware of TikTok. For the past three months, I have been advocating TikTok during my work travels and I often get one of the following responses:
“Isn’t TikTok for kids?”
“You own shares in the company or something?”
“I don’t need another social media platform”
I guess they haven’t realized the popular video content they see on Instagram and Facebook derived from TikTok. Just a week later. I also understand a good number of viral content are tweens doing their thing but once you enter into the TikTok void, you realize there’s so much more – a fun and wholesome destination with people bravely being vulnerable for the internet. When I see frequent posts from a talented content creator who is so original, I am flabbergasted at who they are and feel as though I know them on a deep intimate level.I think that’s the best part of the TikTok journey, identifying my true self for the world to see without curating only the good aspects of life. Share all of the experiences for those who do not have the luxury to do so.
Initially on the app, I realized two important things:
- There is a lot of content in the area of life hack tutorials, tips on financial literacy, health awareness PSA’s, and more.
- Most of the content I am exposed to on my FYP (For You Page) is people’s life without filters.
Yesterday, I had my Toronto office shoot a TikTok with me and it was a really great way to get people together and share creative ideas on how to make the post a success. I loved the collaboration. I plan to keep this up.
I wanted to share some of my favorite TikTok’s but their embedding feature doesn’t seem to work well with WP :\
